Dua Lipa was born 22nd august 1995, in London, the United Kingdom. After a stint as a fashion model and songwriter, she decided to sign with Warner Bros Records and release her debut album "Dua Lipa" in 2017. It peaked at 3rd place at the U.K. Albums Chart and was followed by eight singles including Be the One I.D.G.A.F as well as the U.K. Number One song New Rules which peaked at number six on the charts in the United States. Lipa has won Brit Awards 2018 in the categories of British Female Artist, British Breakthrough Act. Additionally, the platinum album has been praised across multiple countries. Dua Lipa was conceived by London by Kosovo Albanian parents Anesa rexha (mother) and Dukagjin Lilipa (father). Through her maternal grandparents Dua Lipa, the actress is Bosnian. Her ancestry can be traced back to Peja which is a city located in Kosovo. Lipa's grandfathers are both historians. Gjin and Rina are her sisters. Her musical inspirations come from her father who is the lead singer and guitarist of Kosovan Rock band Oda. When she was at home with her parents, her father would play his original compositions, along with songs by David Bowie Bob Dylan Radiohead Stereophonics Stereophonics. Lipa started singing at age five. When she was nine, she started learning to sing. Lipa covered Beautiful by Christina Aguilera as well as If I'm Not You You By Alicia Keys on YouTube. Lipa was offered a recording contract from Warner Bros. Records in 2014. New Love was her debut single. New Love was released in August 2015.
