The song reached the top spot at 19 on both the Canadian Hot 100 and Billboard Hot 100. Even Rolling Stone named the track one of the top Songs in 2015. The same year she launched her debut album Know It All, the track Scars to Your Beautiful ranked in the Billboard Hot 100 and Canadian Albums Chart Billboard 200. It also was one of the five original songs. In her interview with Rap-Up the listeners discussed Cara's struggle to find self-love as well as the doubts she faced. Cara has earned a name for incorporating messages about mental health, kindness and self-love into her music. Her music is a reflection of her own personal struggles in dealing with anxiety and depression. According to an Reuters Interview, her album is described as half tumultuous half perfected. She tells people that she experienced growth during therapy. Alessia Cara was born to Italian parents on the 11th of July 1996. Her parents gifted her with her first guitar at the age of 10. It was the beginning of her journey with music. When she was 13, she started covering songs she loved on YouTube to prove to people that she was a talented artist and was able to pursue a career as musician. A cover of one of her songs, Sweater Weather, was what got her noticed. EP Entertainment gave her an opportunity to develop and compose her own music.
