At 19 years old, she released her debut single Here. The song received praise both from music critics and listeners. The song was ranked in the top 19 on both Billboard Hot 100 in Canada and on the Canadian Hot 100. Even Rolling Stone listed the song as one of top Songs of 2015. In that same year she debuted her album Know It All with the third song Scars to Your Beautiful being the first of five tracks which reached the top of Billboard charts. This includes the Canadian Albums Chart Billboard 200 and Billboard Hot 100. The song was particularly memorable due to her interview with rapper Rap-Up, many of the listeners shared their experiences of doubting herself and learning how to be a better person. Cara's music often contains positive messages regarding mental health, and how important it is to love yourself. All of it is a result of her personal experiences as she suffered from mental health problems as well as insomnia. According to a Reuters' interview, she has described her album half tumultuous however, it is half finished. Therapy made her stronger and she encourages others to do the same. Alessia Cara is a Canadian performer who was born on July 11 1996 to parents who are of Italian heritage. Her parents gifted her with guitar at the age of 10 years old, which brought her to music. She started covering her favorite songs when she was 13, to prove to the world she could sing and had the courage necessary to be an artist. One of the songs Sweater Weather got noticed by a record label called EP Entertainment which allowed her to write and create her songs.
