Alessia Cara grew up in Toronto in Canada. She was born on July 11th, 1996 to parents with Italian descent. When she was 10 years old, her parents gifted her a guitar, which was the foundation of her passion for music. When she was 13she began covering songs she loved on YouTube to demonstrate to her fans that she was a talented artist and brave enough to pursue a career as a musician.
